Music file sharing versus buying disks

Of course sales were down when music began to be available for downloading onto your computer and Ipod. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free? Well actually, I think the fact that you can just get the songs you really like, might be what appeals to us. Why do we want to pay up near 20 bucks or more for a disk if we can get just the few songs cheaper? I like variety, and most people do, so when they say that CD sales slip as music downloads surge, of course it has, as we are not stupid after all. But, even paying for downloading music can be more desirable as we can get exactly what we want and for less.
