The Frozen Smoky Mountain Nature

A number of years ago my wife and I were heading up to the Smokies for a weekend stay.  I think it was a Friday morning in early March. The weather was nice with blue skies and a fair temperature for this time of year.  Driving along the very curvy New Found Gap road the temperature dropped a few degrees as it typically does while we climbed higher up into the Smoky Mountain nature.  We never get tired of the marvelous views we see along the way.  Just as we made the final curve into the New Found Gap parking lot we saw a wondrous sight.  In front of us we could see that the wind was blowing extremely fast.  What was amazing was that everything in sight was covered in a white sort of frost.   This was a photo opportunity I could not mss so I jumped out of the car and was able to take a few shots of a rail fence with frost covered trees behind it.  I found out later that it is called Hoars Frost.
